Beauty and the Beast
March 19, 2017Last Friday, I had a chance to watch the latest Beauty and the Beast movie because my manager gave me two free tickets as a token of appreciation on creating their Organization's Event AVP :) Thank you Miss! It's been a long time since I watched again on cinema XDDD
Won't go over with the synopsis that probably we all know already XD But here are my thoughts regarding the latest Beauty and the Beast. Sorry if I spoil but not too much~ :D
- First of all, I love Emma Watson so much so I'm digging to watch this movie :D and I LOVE IT. She's the perfect Belle for me! AHAHAHA!
- So we all know the 1991 Animation was musical, this as well is a musical movie. So if you're all concerned about me spoiling the movie, well you have already been spoiled if you watched th 1991 Animation since it's just the same!!! AHAHAHA! There are minor changes but not really a big deal. I was really satisfied with it :D
- Surprisingly everything came out on the Animation is on the movie. Even the songs were retained. I never knew Emma could sing~ It was so good and Gaston was really portrayed well! He's convincing :)
- This movie is obviously an upgrade to the Animation. Their musical presentation is so extravagant! I personally love their "Be Our Guest" presentation. It's so magical :D
- I LOVE THE BEAST. His design isn't really that vicious nor scary~ I like the horns as well. I find him really soft XDDD AHAHAHA! Well in the animation, he's somewhat like that~ But they didn't made him crawl like an animal. He's upright from the beginning unlike in the animation where he first looks like a big dog or something :) But it was still okay. Really okay!!!

I like Lumiere the most :D Chip is really still really cute~ Mrs. Potts and Chip facials were redesigned as porcelain paintings. I like it very much :D

But it was funny I keep incorporating things to Harry Potter! XD Like for example:
- In the "Be Our Guest" presentation, Belle was just sitting there watching Lumiere's and others with all the flying plates and utensils and all. I keep thinking "Hermione's using Wingardium Leviosa to do this! XD" ---SORRY! XDD
- There was an appearance of an Owl and again I'm like "WAS THAT HEDWIG?!?!?!" ---SORRY! XDD
- Emma Thompson is there as well and I remembered she was a professor in Hogwarts! Hi Professor Sybill! XDDD --Sorryyyy!!!
- When the Beast asked her if there's somewhere she wanted to go, again I'm like "OMG! HOGWARTS?!?!?!" and I am sorry again for that.
Yup, I just can't help it but please forgive me XD AHAHAHAHA!
- Belle's and Beast's dance was very lovely. The dress design is still quite the same with the animation but more elegant :) though still, Cinderella's dress is still my number 1 :D

I've been reading a lot of comments and POVs that the gay moment ruined the movie but for me IT'S NOT. It's not because I love gays and all but it doesn't really matter. At first I thought "Why did they made Le Fou gay?" but in the end I realize it was like adding a spice to make the movie funny and interesting. Not ruining it. If you're focus is on the gay moment and gay Le Fou and there is a gay on the movie, You seriously have a problem. The movie isn't ruined. Josh Gad is an excellent actor, he portrayed well as a loyal servant/follower to Gaston, as someone who like Gaston. It was entertaining and if you really find it hard entertaining, you again seriously have a problem! XD
- Overall, the movie is very good! I like it so much! Much more to the original 1991 Animation :D And much better with the 2014 Beauty and the Beast. Yes, there was a 2014 version which I was kinda disappointed. The story is very different but the main thought of Beauty and the Beast is there. The movie is more on the serious side. Not musical and different aspect in terms of magical. There was an additional story to it. Very different and I don't like it. Still if you're interested, you may want to check 2014's La Belle et la Bete (Yes, it's in French by the way so you need Subs XD)

2014's Beast[/caption]Okay, here's the thing, if there's one thing same with 2014 and 2017 which 1991 doesn't have--- it's the ROSE. Both 2014 and 2017 reason for being a prisoner is because Belle wanted a Rose and the Beast happen to have a garden full of Roses. The 1991 movie doesn't. The reason is that Maurice trespasses the beast's premises~ I guess, the writer/director watched the 2014 as well XD AHAHAHAHA!
Anyway, if you still haven't watched Beauty and the Beast 2017 please don't read my blog and go straight to cinema! (but too late XDD AHAHAHA!) PLEASE WATCH IT! Brings back childhood as well. It so good I need to DL this and keep it with me! AHAHAHAHA!

I'm thinking of watching this movie tomorrow and I think it'll still be full of surprises even if you've written about it. I haven't watched the 2014 French film so I can't imagine Beauty and the Beast in live action haha

ReplyDeleteWell apparently, it's one of the changes they made from the 1991 animation. In the original animation, there's no rose request from Belle and no rose stealing happened. Maurice just trespass the beast premises and he's mad about it :D 2014 and 2017 changed that :D Hopefully you'll know when you watched it then :) heehee~
I'm really itching to watch this movie to be honest but every time I went to the cinema it's always sold out! Hahaa! And now I read a lot of spoilers over social medias and one thing that really caught me was the appearance of the prince vs the beast! Hahaa! I was like? Should I be excited about it? Hahaa! Thanks for this review babe! Gives me some heads up!

After the nit-picking part - sorry for that :P - I can only agree with Xian: this movie is definitely a must-watch, and not only for the Disney Classic's nostalgia; it's entertaining, magical, emotionally intense and compelling for those who never watched the original Classic too. Absolutely recommended. :) :D :) :D

I have also seen this movie last Friday! It was very visually stunning. :D I am thankful of the casting director for picking Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, two of my favorite celebrities. ♥ I also used to be a big fan of Harry Potter and I can't help but see Hermione falling in love with the Beast. When they were also singing Be Our Guest, I kept on thinking of Dan Stevens' movie, The Guest, which you should watch too. :)

ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of the original Disney's Beauty and the Beast. It's my favourite from that era, and I absolutely adore it. So when I heard about this live remake, I was a bit hesitant, but I saw the previews a few months ago and was astounded by it. I haven't seen it yet, but I hope to soon :)

But yes, just like what you've mentioned, the BE OUR GUEST musical part is so awesome. :D
