Pasaporte 2017
February 25, 2017Hello everyone! I apologize I wasn't able to update before. It feels like I only update every month which wasn't the plan LOL! Anyways, work's keeping me up and I don't have my own laptop yet :( I'm using my brother's and everyday he's playing games. Today is a good chance because he's out :D
So last last week I went to apply for passport because I needed it by April as I'm going to HK for vacation (Yay! Finally, my first ever out of country vacation!) I know there are a lot of tips and guidelines you can search around here on net but I just wanna share my experience on how you apply for PH Passport :D Let's say an updated tips for everyone? :)

So to all Filipinos out there who's first time in applying for passport, here are the things you prepare before going to DFA:
- Confirmed Appointment
Appointment is done thru online. You can apply it here https://www.passport.gov.ph/ Just follow the instructions on the site and make sure your information matches with your birth certificate so we can avoid further checking :) if you know what I mean :)
Here's the twist, applying for appointment is easy but slots are also easy to get full. I applied December but I got confirmed for February. So if you're planning to go out of country and you still don't have passport, apply as early as now :) and WALK-INS ARE NOT ALLOWED. I'm not sure to provincial DFAs as I'm hearing you can walk-in but DFAs in NCR do not allow walk-ins.
The site is also very picky with their system requirements. Only YAHOO or GMAIL emails are allowed. If you use others like Hotmail (I applied with hotmail first) I wasn't able to receive any email confirmation :( So just to make sure you get an email confirmation, use Yahoo or Gmail.
- Primary & Secondary IDs
We can always search for the list of Primary IDs and Secondary IDs acceptable. I searched but it seems not all listed are acceptable. In my case I don't have my Unified SSS ID. It was stolen last December and I wasn't able to apply for a new. I was so worried since I believe I don't have primary IDs so I checked for alternative I can present and they listed:

So checking on that list, I have BIR, Alumni ID and Company ID. I guess I'm good but for the love of God, BIR (TIN ID) is an unacceptable ID (the one laminated). If you apply for Digitize BIR ID, no BIR office offer Digitize yet. I tried to apply for one and they told me it's not yet official. So how come they require BIR digitized ID if it's not yet official? Such a shame a lot brought BIR and yet they do not accept it. My company ID is useless by the way, it doesn't have any certification that can guarantee my identity XD LOL!
But I was still able to pass through, these are the items I presented upon my application:
- NSO Birth Certificate issued by PSA - You can apply online here http://e-census.com.ph 315php each :)
- Print Confirmed Appointment
- Primary IDs: Alumni ID, BIR, Company ID - but yeah they didn't accept BIR (unless digitize) and Company ID :(
- Secondary IDs: Transcript of Records, NBI, School Year Book
- Xerox copies of everything.
So apparently, I was saved by my ALUMNI ID and TOR. Good thing I brought my TOR because Alumni ID is again unacceptable if you don't have your TOR with you and vice versa. Always remember that! XDDD
Once you're all good, you pay your passport fee. You can choose to normal process which is only 950php (20 working days) or Express process which is only 1200php (7 working days). PS: If your appointment is on WEEKENDS, there is no normal process. This is automatic to Express and you don't have a choice :D PLUS if you want it delivered to you, LBC is there to offer their services for 150php.
Then off to your picture taking~ Make sure you check your information carefully :)
So yeah, that's how I got my passport. There wasn't really a hassle, took me only 1.5hrs but damn I was worried with my requirements XD But I was granted pass anyway :D Also, have your Phone, Unli data and Power bank with you if you hate waiting :D

Yep, that’s the new design of the passport. :) I just renewed mine last month and received early this March. I have yet to get it from my brother though.
ReplyDeleteWhen is your HK vacation? Or have you gone there already? I haven’t checked new posts yet since internet connection at home is still kaput (and has been for weeks).
